Reddit user Delta64 has detailed the massive mod Skywind Project he's currently undertaking and the latest improvements he's added to the mod.
Skywind, as the name suggests, brings Morrowind – partly explored in the official Dragonborn DLC – to Skyrim. The huge mod is described as 'a non-commerical fan-made modification for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim with the enhanced graphics and capabilities of Skyrim's engine.
'While ownership of both games is required to play, the player actually only plays Skywind using the Skyrim game, and not the older Morrowind game. This means that the user interface, combat, graphics and system requirements for the Skywind mod are all those of Skyrim and NOT Morrowind.'
The Game of the Year Edition of Morrowind, including the Tribunal and Bloodmoon expansions, is the version required in order to play Skywind.
Anyone who wishes to pick up the mod should be mindful that it is a relatively large pack as mods go at 1.5 GB with numerous plug-ins. While Skywind remains in alpha phase, meaning some aspects have yet to be added, you can complete Morrowind's main storyline.
The latest version of the mod includes all of the game's magic effects as well as new Dwemer textures and functioning lava while weather, including ash storms. Several new quests, such as Morrowind Chargen (which can be started in either Morrowind or Skyrim) have also been introduced.
To find out details on how to download and install Skywind head over here, as always the mod is, unfortunately, not available to console players. You can also have a look here at some of our favourite mods for Skyrim.
